Developing supervisory skills for supervisors and managers of production lines
18 May 2017
AT Port-Said
Project: Khatwa "for improving job quality"
The Supervisory Skills Training Programme for supervisors and line managers was developed and implemented in cooperation with GIZ-Labour Market Access Project. The training program started in July 2016 in the pilot governorates of Port Said, Ismailia and Suez. It appealed thereafter to several companies and institutions. A contract agreement was signed with the International Labour Organization (ILO) to implement the training in 7 governorates through a team of trainers who was trained by the GIZ-Labour Market Access Project. The training contract was implemented with the ILO by Port-Said Development Association for Small and Medium Industries, the Egyptian Association for SME Development in Suez and Sada El Nafs Training Institute in Port-Said. Until now, FEDA has implemented the trainings in 10 governorates (Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, Alexandria, Cairo, Giza, Sharqia, El Beheira, Beni Suef, Qalyubia) with the participation of 34 companies. Around 112 supervisors and line managers were trained; working with and affecting the quality of employment of 6,278 workers (out of whom 51% are female).  A team of 20 trainers were trained. The program aims to ensure the quality of the work environment through the good treatment of workers, which contribute to reducing the turnover rates of employment and increase the effectiveness of worker retention.
